Over one million words exist in the Oxford English Dictionary. Of these, some 200,000 are used by English speakers, with 20,000 most commonly used, although nowadays, a vocabulary of 10,000 words is closer to the average. It can be no surprise then that I stand in awe of authors who take a cluster of words, coax, tease and massage them to tell myriad stories. Their ability to create their novels is magic. Moreover, it is pure alchemy.
My aim is to support the author's visions with every method to hand (including nagging) for flow, structure, readability, and to iron out oopsies (grammar, punctuation, spelling, flow, overuse of adverbs, passive voice, filters, hedging, repetition, redundancy, over-explaining, consistency).
I love editing and I will do everything possible to help you to make it the best it can be. I have worked with writers in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy and France.
Books enrich readers and open doors. They change lives, alter perceptions, entertain, inform, break down barriers, illuminate and transport the reader to new worlds.
